Neil Alden Armstrong (born August 5, 1930) was the first man on the Moon. He travelled on the Apollo 11 capsule with Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins in July 1969. He is famous for saying: "That's one small step for (a) man, one giant leap for mankind!"
Neil Armstrong was viewed as a legend after Apollo 11. He was supposed to go on the Apollo 13 mission but broke his leg 2 days before Apollo 13 launched. Neil also was an American. He was the person who officially made America win the Space Race.
